Why Feurstagram exists
Feurstagram was started in December 2025 by a DFInstagram user. Keeping a distraction-free build in step with Instagram's frequent updates had become difficult, and DFInstagram had gone a long time without a new version. Rather than wait, the author rebuilt the idea as an open project: patches anyone can read, and a process that can be re-run on every new Instagram release. It has been updated alongside Instagram since then, with 20 releases by September 2026.
What carries over from DFInstagram
- The real Instagram app, not a website in a wrapper: notifications, stories and messaging behave normally.
- Choose what to hide: feed, Reels, Explore and more, each on its own switch.
- An APK you install yourself, outside the Play Store.

Switching from DFInstagram
- Pick a build. The standard APK uses Instagram's package name, like the official app. If Android refuses to install it over DFInstagram because the signatures differ, uninstall DFInstagram first, or use the Clone APK, which installs alongside it.
- Download the latest Feurstagram APK from GitHub and install it.
- Log in to your Instagram account again.
- Set your blocks by long-pressing the Home tab. Feed, Reels, Explore and ads are already blocked by default.
